It Was a Dark and Funny Night
"The Unexpected Guest"
SOM: 1994

The play was supposed to be a murder mystery, but unforeseen events turned into a comedy of errors!  Fiona Hutchison (JENNA) recounts the sequence of mis-events that occurred while she and her beau John Viscardi were on-stage in the Agatha Christie thriller, The Unexpected Guest.  First, all the lights went out in the theater except one.  Without missing a beat, John walked Fiona over to a window with the remaining light and continued on with all his lines.  "Then the light went out, so I was following him all over the stage, : says Fiona.  "I was holding his hand and he was dragging me all over.  It was pitch-black so nobody could see me, but I was doubling over laughing while John delivered ad-libs to the audience such as, 'How fascinating,' or 'Let's go over to the window!'"  The audience stayed glued to their seats until the murderer was brought to light... in total darkness!
