beating himself up for his verbal assault decides to apologize, but he
finds the door ajar and Gabrielle unconscious and beaten in her ranscaked
house. She is unable to tell Johnson and Rafe who attacked her, but
she assumes it was the prowler. Max is afraid that it was one of
their many enemies, maybe even some of Dante's friends, or the man who
attacked Steve. Later, he takes her and Al to his Penthouse at The
Holden Towers, and begs her forgiveness for being such a hotheaded bully
and leaving her in danger. Gabrielle assures him it wasn't his fault.

Llanview is experiencing a heatwave and the A/C is on the fritz at The Holden Tower's. Gabrielle comes to say goodnight to a flustered Max. She assures him that he has no reason to feel sorry, and that she'll always consider him family. She leans in as she remarks on how hot it is, then abruptly turns her head and bids a shaken Max sweet dreams. Max flops backwards onto the couch and intently watches her in frustation as she exits shedding her robe.... |

Max escorts Gabrielle back to her house to pick up her & Al's things. He comforts her before she goes upstairs to change and he tries to find Al's favorite toy. The heatwave is still in full force and his shirt is undone as he calls to her that he can't find Al's toy. Gabrielle distratcedly comes down the stairs, opens the door to catch a breeze and tells Max the toy is under the couch before she realizes from his flustered and appreciative look that she's not exactly fully dressed. She's equally flustered. Typically, Rafe and Det Johnson walk in and Gabrielle goes to change before the next ground of drilling about Steve. |
