| Gabrielle
resumes her vigil next by Steve's bedside, only to be told once again by
Dr. Larry Woleck (Michael Storm) that there's been no change. Nurse
Brenda McGillis (Brenda Brock) though thinks she can help using new methods
of reaching coma patients by reading to Steve. Gabrielle tells her
she can have Steve's favorite books.
Max shows up, but before Gabrielle can speak to him alone Detective Johnson from Arizona appears with Det Rafe Garrison (Ken Meeker) . Johnson wants Max & Gabrielle to look over the list of people present from the night Steve's ventilator was cut off at the hospital, and see if anyone looks suspicious. M & G are surprised and angry that their names are on the list. Johnson says it's just procedure. Once again M & G are interrupted by Cord and then Tina. Max escapes to be with Steve, and Tina tells Gabrielle that she's lucky to have Max in her time of need.. Gabrielle is silently amused at Tina's usual inaccuracy. When Gabrielle finally catches up to a lone Max he brushes her off reiterating that they must not be alone together anymore. |

Gabrielle is interrupted by Det Johnson as she gazes at a photo of her, Max and Al. (as usual her door is unlocked and he just walks in!). Johnson once again asks about the list, but they're interrupted by Al's cries. Johnson admires Al while simultaneoulsy asking pointed questions about his paternity. Gabrielle bristling at his leading tone states that Max and not Steve is the father, and it's common knowledge. But she's shaken enough to call Max after Johnson leaves. Max is angry that Gabrielle called him over, dismisses her fears that Johnson is trying to implicate them in Steve's attempted murder, but winds up staying for dinner anyway. As Max is about to depart, who should jump out of the bushes looking for his lost list, Det Johnson off course. |

Tina calls Gabrielle away from Steve's bedside to inform her that Det Johnson was nosing around asking questions about her, Max and Steve. But she tells Gabby not to worry, that she told Johnson that Gabby and Steve decided not to get a divorce afterall and they all weren't fighting over the adoption of Al anymore. For some reason Gabby is none to pleased with Tina's blabbing ways. Tina says it's not as if she told Johnson that Gabrielle was still in love with Max; Gabrielle tosses her out of her house. (Tina isn't done blabbing though, she blabs all to Max) Later, while Gabby is staring at photos of Max and Al in her locket, the police show up to inform her that a prowler has been spotted in the neighborhood. Next at her door is a furious Max, who wants to know why she tossed Tina out and why she's being so antsy about Johson.. is it because she has something to hide... did she try and kill Steve? Gabrielle is incredulous and distraught that he could think such a thing of her as Max storms out. |
