| Gabrielle
happily chats with Steve (who's gone to AZ to check on the Buchanan ranch
for Viki after Clints death). She's soon interrupted by an irate
Max who says he wants to be a part of Al's life. Gabrielle capitualtes
and they decide to work things out between the three of them. Max
then says that they can seal the deal if she agrees to go to Cord's Gallery
opening with him since he's dateless (Um, Max, hello? Yesterday she
told you she's still in love with you, you rejected her, and now you're
asking her out on a date! Mixed signals, much?) She agrees and they
chat with Cord, and later with Tina onlyto be interrupted by a phone call
from AZ about a seriously injured Steve.

In AZ, Steve suffering from masive head injuries is wheeled into surgery. Gabrielle is torn between genuine grief, feeling comfort in Max's arm and guilt that she's maybe enjoying it too much... as she stares at her wedding ring. Later as Gabrielle sist by Steve's bedside she winces when Max puts a hand on her shoulder. The Dr. informs them that Steve is in a coma, and Gabrielle alone at Steve's bed side pleads with him to wake up, and if he does she'll promise to be a better wife. |
