razes Max on being tied down and thoughtlessly (or is it purposefully?)
goes on about how Max hadn't met the woman who wanted him to settle down
until Tina. Ouch!
Gabrielle goes to tell Tina and Viki that Cord is late and can't make it as best man. Tina freaks and runs out screaming that Cord has to be there, and she runs across the hall when she sees him (allowing Max to see her on their wedding day. Bad luck). Max is shaken by her reaction to Cord as Gabrielle looks on hurting for him. Later, after Tina's infamous "I Tina take thee Cord... I mean Max" Gabrielle goes to comfort Max and tells him she'll be there for him. Steve though is on the warpath and demands that Max go back to the church and marry Tina (Jeez, I wonder why he wants Max to get married so badly?) |

Gabrielle is having a shipping crises with her business but Steve is irate that she won't just go home and fix it later. He rants that she promised her "work" wouldn't interfere with their life on the ranch. Max tried to get him to be reasonable but leaves them to hash it out when Steve resents his interference. Later he storms out when Gabrielle has to take a phone call. Gabrielle
spies the chessboard and thoughtfully picks up the knight... as she flashes
back to her first horse ride with Max in Argentina....(Max flirting shamelessly
and admiring her riding skills and her fire)
Gabrielle returns shortly in riding gear and Max is struck by her garb, recalling that she wore that the first time he saw her. She sloughs it off and says since he's been complaining about being bored, play hooky and go riding with her. He laughs and asks when did she learn to appeal to his selfish and baser instincts. She laughs back that she's learning and they go off together. Later, they laugh about the bruises incurred from a long absence in the saddle and when Max is called away Gabrielle once again falls into remembrences of things past.... the first time they made love in Argentina. (Flashback: Max says they can wait because he's coming back to Argentina, but Gabrielle tells him not to make any promises he can't keep. He promises her he will keep it.... NOT!) |
