throws Gabrielle & Steve an Engagement party then later jokes with
a flustered Gabby that he did it just to have an excuse to dance with her.
Later Max is stabbed by their old foe Rolo and Gabrielle is the first to
rush to his side. She wants to call off the wedding but Steve insists
they go through with it even if Max can't be Best Man.
Gabrielle
with more than the run of the mill pre- wedding jitters tries to convince
Viki and herself that she'd doing the right thing.

Gabrielle readies for her entrance with Matron of Honor Tina, son Al, and, the stand in Father of the Bride, Clint. Does anyone here have just cause why these two should not be joined as husband and wife ... enter Max ... witness Gabrielle's look of surprise, longing and hope... oops he's here just to be Best Man.... witness marriage. Max, typically is the first to kiss the bride as Steve turns away jealously. Steve then surprises Gabrielle and his guests with his wedding present to his bride...he's bought a ranch and they're moving to Arizona. Oh Joy! (Jan 6, 1988) |

Max loans Gabrielle $50,000 (and tells her not to tell Steve where it comes from) which she uses to buy Delilah's Dress Design business with. Steve finds out and blows a gasket. He wants her "home" in Arizona working the ranch (his dream) and not messing around with her "hobby". Later, Max tells Gabby that Steve doesn't mean it, that he'll get over it and that really shouldn't allow him to bulldoze & minimize her. But she's feeling guilty (not for the designs but b/c she's in love with Max) and tracks Steve him down at the airport with Al and they go "home". Later, Steve insist to a very resistant Gabrielle that they go to Llanview for Max and Tina's wedding. Gabrielle gets an earful of Tina talking about Cord and questions whether she really loved Max. Tina says she does, Gabrielle give her something old, a locket she doesn't wear any more. Tina opens it after Gabrielle leaves and there's a photo of Max in it. |
