| In the stables Gabrielle walks in on a
day dreaming Max and calls him on it. She knows he was recalling the first
day they met riding but he tries to deny it. Max says he was just packing
his gear since he's leaving the mansion. Asa comes in and says he's thrilled
but after Max leaves he's angry and orders Gabby to get him to change his
mind. When Max returns Gabrielle tells him that it's all for the best that
he's leaving b/c he'll just hurt Al if he stays. She then goes on to say
that he's always been a runner and she thrilled that her plan to get him
out of the house has finally worked. Max sees she's still upset and presses
her to admit that she wants him to leave b/c she has feelings for him she
can't control, as Asa listens outside smiling. Later Max announces to Gabby,
Asa and Al that he's not going to leave, that she tipped her hand too soon
by gloating and he won't give her the satisfaction. (June 2001)
