We discuss the show more with Fiona --
Me- "What was it like to be pregnant for 15 months?
Fiona- laughed "Yes it was a rather long pregnancy!"
My friend-- "Does Buzz have his memory back?"
(this is 60 minutes stuff here)
Fiona: "Yes"

We were so nervous and she was so down to earth - really thought she was much less "British".  I don't know how to explain what I mean; she was very normal, like just talking to a friend.  I thought she might have an "air" about her but nothing could have been further from the truth.  We asked for an autograph and only had the program from the auction -- she signed.
 
 

Then I saw Justin was alone and I walked over to get his autograph... I was still nervous but he took the paper and turned it over. Fiona walked over and said, "Didn't I leave you enough room?!!".  He said,  "No!!",  but found a spot and signed --- To Barbara, you're lovely...Justin Deas.  He is just that nice of a guy.

My friend asked him about the "Nola story"  and is he glad that's over.   He kind of rolled his eyes and said very softly --" Yeah I guess... I don't really get involved with any of that part.  I'm in it for the money!!"

I asked him about Santa Barbara and how much of that was ad-libbed.  He said, "That show, a lot of it was...".  I told him about this one scene where cruz (A. Martinez) & Eden (Marcy Walker) were leaving his (Keith- JD) office and he said, "You know they make jeans in larger sizes!!".  Justin said, "that got on the air?",  I said...yes a lot of stuff did and I always wondered how it got past the censors.  He then says, "He was a phenom" (talking about A Martinez I presume).

We asked if he was glad Fiona was back and he said, "Oh yes, she's a great gal".  I wanted to ask so many questions of both of them, but I always felt like they would be too personal or totally dumb (as you can tell we didn't succeed in avoiding the latter!!!).

Ok. it was time to ask for another picture.  I went over to Justin and said very sheepishly, "Could we try this again?", as I held up the camera. "Sure let's give it another try",  as he held his arm out and motioned me over.  I could only think----I love this man!!----- My friend takes the picture- just the two of us (poor Fiona, or maybe lucky Fiona, has been dissed!) --click--no flash--Justin and I both say at the same time "Hey!!'.
 
 

Then my friend takes two more (still no flash). He again reassures me that they will come out.

He is so much different than I expected, but I won't be able to explain. He was sweet, shy, and spoke softly.  Not at all like his characters (loud & excitable).  He was embarrassed by the adoration. you could easily visualize this guy at his kids ball game hanging out with the other parents --no superstar ego here-- it was very refreshing.   No wonder the media can't deal with him!
 
 

Then they had the luncheon & the auction.  They were auctioning off several Bway shows donated by Mr. & Mrs. Deas, their vacation home in North Carolina for a week (sleeps 10!!).  I think that went for $3000, needless to say my friend & I were a little short!!  Some OLTL & GL scripts -- other stuff (beanie babies etc.).  Well we sat at a table with other JD and FH fans but the majority of people there were people from the area trying to help out a local cause.  (Justin & Margaret live in NJ and seem very active in their community)  Margaret was the emcee and Justin, Fiona, Margaret's sister and a few models were -- get ready modeling jewelry!!!

So we would sit at our tables and they would come to each table with different jewelry.  Fiona came to our table with beautiful $25,000 earrings on.  We asked her if the irony was lost on her --the jewel thief and all -- she definitely saw the humor in it and asked us where the nearest exit was!!  She was so funny, going to each one of us abnd saying things like-- "Really can you actually see spending this much money on earrings???"

Then these other models would come by and I was like yeah nice where's Justin? (I didn't say I was polite!).  So we could see him getting closer to our table and that's when "public Justin" took over -- now he was performing and he was funny.  First he came out when Margaret introduced him and he did that John Travolta Saturday Night fever pose.

He was joking and laughing with everyone and he gets to our table (I hope I remember all his great lines)

--Justin-- "Hi everyone wanner see my cufflinks?"
--Our table-- "Oh do we!"
--Justin-- (holds out his arms to show us) "These cufflinks cost $50,000.  I say if you can't drive it or make love to it then it's not worth it!"
--Our table-- "Do you think it's a good idea that Fiona is modeling expensive jewelry?"
Justin-- (laughs) "No comment"
Then he comes to each one of us and says "Wanna look closer at my cufflinks?"  (in that sexy way of his)  We all became 12 again and giggled touching his arm looking gazingly into his beautiful eyes... uh I didn't do any of that... some other people were....

Then the auction began -- I went to the ladies room and outside was this incredible limo-- I wondered if that was how Justin and Fiona were going back to the studio.

The auction was going on (they also auctioned off a walk on on GL) now I would have bid on this but you didn't know the day or who would be on set so I couldn't take the chance if he wasn't there why bother.  Anyway, I bid on the scripts and won! ($75) was a worthy cause- it was 4 days scripts one autographed by the cast.

Margaret came over to me and knelt down and I looked a little worried.   "This other lady thought she won one of the scripts so I gave her one.  We can give you some $ back...."   I told her I just needed one with Justin's autograph, that was fine --then I said "I love your husband!!" and she said "I do too!".  Then I told her we drove all the way from Syracuse to meet him-- and she said " I heard- you're famous!!" (The other co-chair earlier had expressed her dismay that we would go so far to see him)  I had asked he other co-chair if she was familiar with his work and  she said no, but she loves Margaret and she was looking forward to meeting him.

Margaret Colin was wonderful so outgoing - she just seems to love life-- (who wouldn't) they seem to be very happy.   Well, Justin & Fiona snuck out --they went back to the studio during the auction-- boo hoo -- so I got my scripts, and we left.
 
 

Needless to say we flew home.  I mean that car didn't touch the ground.  We were both talking a mile a minute about what just happened.  I would just start screaming (that NYS thruway is long drive!!) " I just met Justin Deas!!!" my friend was also excited but not as much as me!!!   The scripts are of 3 days (they were Justin's scripts!!) the whole show is in them and I taped all 3 to have as well.  They were the shows where Fiona comes back:  The Diner where she talks to Harley about Philip and where Buzz tells Jenna he has their wedding all planned and he gives her the list for "chopped meat" right up to the labor and bringing her to the hospital.

An interesting sidebar-- the directors notes to the actors and crew are there, and in the hospital scene it says "Make sure Selena and Buzz never see each other".  I knew something was up then--- but I had no idea it would be so awful....

One script is autographed-- Justin, Fiona , (character names here-- Josh, Harley, Lillian, Alan, I can't remember who else...)

The pictures--- well they came out very dark.  I was so upset, but I went to a photo place and had them lightened and most came out great (now in a frame in my family room).

Well that's it -- long but I didn't leave out much.  I tell you, I will never forget that day and I hope that their careers go just the way they want them to... whatever it is...just not Buzz & Selena please!!)
