Fox After Breakfast III

Fiona Hutchison co-hosts with Tom Bergeron
(April 3, 1997)

Tom recounts that on his trip to the supermarket he saw a soap magazine and wondering if there might be something about Fiona in it, he bought it... and voila she was the centerfold!  Fiona laughs and when he comes over takes a peak because she hadn't seen the issue yet.

He then jokes that the staff had planned to surprise him with Ramy Zada "the big galout" but that Fiona spilled the beans in make-up, not knowing it was a secret!

Guest Janeane Garofalo, there to promote her new film Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion , also wryly jokes about her HS experiences, and flashes her tattoos, one of which she tried to disguise with another tattoo.  Fiona admires her little Running Man tattoo and muses about getting one herself.

Next up:  Janeane, although deploring the alliteration, accompanies Fiona and Tom over to Janeane's Java Joint.  Fiona and Janeane laughingly combine for a tag team of latte do's and don'ts as they usher in Tom's first latte experience.

Tom appeals to Janeane, asking if "big galout" is at all insulting and she laughs that it's not a prejorative term in the least.  But here comes Ramy Zada (Jeffrey, GL) feigning anger, and Fiona laughingly inserting herself between his considerable bulk and a "trembling" Tom.

Ramy talks about what a pleasure it is to work with Fiona, and via live video her co-stars Kim Zimmer (Reva), Rebecca Budig (Michelle) chime in with similiar comments.  Cynthia Watros (Annie) jokes though:   "Hate her, hate her... she's a pain in my butt!"  Fiona gurgles with delight and exclaims "The only woman who speaks the truth!"

Zimmer demands to see her "boyfriend" Hutch, and he's brought out where Janeane Garofalo promptly claims him.

Tom, Fiona, Ramy Zada, and Janeane (still holding Hutch) welcome "Resident Shrink" Sheenah Hank, who wants to speak on how watching soaps can help viewers with their lives and problems.

She thinks they have a responsiblity to help, and Fiona agrees but to a point.  She avers that they are soap operas, emphasis on the opera and that in effect they are larger than life and more extreme and should not be held up as a blueprint for acting in real life.   But Sheenah still points to bad boy Jeffrey as played by Ramy Zada, saying that Jeffrey goes over the line in his selfish and emotional behavior, and that characters should be examples.  Ramy, counters jokingly that he is an example, of what not to do.  LOL

Guest Roseanne Cash talks about her book, her music and her famous father, and  performs a song  from her latest album.
