Ever since ONE LIFE TO LIVE’S Asa wed Max's ex, Gabrielle (and adopted his son, Al), the new Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan have proven to be a major burr under the con man's saddle.  This week, however, their plot against Max might prove to be little too successful.

Inviting Max to the wedding reception is all part of the master plan, says Fiona Hutchison (Gabrielle).  "Absolutely.  And there are other targets: Renee, Rae, Viki, Ben.  It's like a shooting gallery, and we have the big guns."

Using a little reverse psychology, Gabrielle tricks Max into sticking around for the party.  "Gabrielle works her magic to get Ben and Max in the same room, arguing with each other," previews Hutchison.  It escalates into a major confrontation, after which Gabs tries to convince Ben to participate in her plan against Max.  Ben turnsher down,but not before the two bond over their mutual disdain forMr. Holden.  “They have a deep understanding of each other, much to Viki’s dislike,” adds Hutchison.

At the end of the gathering, Max decides that he's had enough and that he's moving out of Asa's mansion.  It's the last thing the scheming marrieds want, and they suddenly have to find a way to backpedal.  Not that it puts any permanent brakes on their final intentions, which still remain under wraps.  "Gabrielle's moments of weakness [for Max] only propel her to dig in deeper," explains the actress.  "He's her Achilles' heel - and she is his." So, where will Asa and Gabrielle strike next?  Laughs Hutchison, "One can only begin to imagine."
