Max's life is about to get a little more complicated on OLTL- his ex-wife Gabrielle returns to Llanview next month. "She's totally insane. At any moment she could crash to a devestating end," reveals her portrayer, Fiona Hutchison. "Gabrielle's not on solid footing, and I find that very intriguing to play." Hutchison had ended a run as Lady Chiltern in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband at The Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, N.J., when she got a call from Gary Tomlin, OLTL's executive producer. OLTL had courted her before, but this time, "He had a storyline and a deal," reveals Hutchison. "I nearly returned during Jill Farren Phelps' run as executive producer, but I couldn't get out of my contract with Guiding Light (where she played Jenna Bradshaw Cooper)." Although Tomlin offered Hutchison a spicy story, he was mum about the details. "They won't even tell me what Gabrielle's back story is," she laughs. Hutchison "can't wait to work with Erika Slezak (Viki) again -- she's brilliant. I would love to work with Bobby Woods (Bo) -- and of course, my buddy, Phil Carey (Asa). He's just liquid gold." Gabrielle won't be sporting her trademark long tresses, however. "I cut my hair for a film I did last year, and I love it." That begs the question: Can Gabrielle still turn Max's head, or was it all in the hair? |
