GL's Jenna Says Goodbye

| There's no doubt that Justin Deas (Buzz) and Fiona Hutchison (ex-Jenna) gave bravura performances as their characters bid each other farewell for the last time during Jenna's death scenes. But the actors' outstanding performances only highlighted why the loss of Jenna (as well as Hutchison) is particularly troubling. As a couple, these veteran daytime actors played off each other's strengths like a pair of real-life married misfits. Both actors are also powerhouses in their own right. For the past year, however, Jenna and Buzz have been so deep in storyline Siberia that their presence at family functions almost seemed like an afterthought. If Deas and Hutchison were this good during Jenna's last minutes, imagine what they could have pulled off if they had been front and center for even a portion of the year. We'll miss the crafty and effervescent Jenna, but we'll miss the pairing of Hutchison and Deas even more.* |
